PEOPLE have just over two weeks to have their say on a key plan which will help shape the future of the fire service.
The 12-week consultation on Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) will close on Friday, September 5.
The IRMP sets out how the service intends to improve community safety and remain efficient, and proposes a broad range of priorities which will be delivered over a three-year period.
Chief Fire Officer Paul Hayden said: “Our proposals are what I would call a ‘balance package’ of measures.
“We know that we have to be efficient following our disappointing central government budget settlement this year and our proposals suggest ways in which we can make savings.
“However, I also feel it is crucial we protect current levels of public services and continue to make investment in firefighter training.”
The draft plan will be looked at by elected members of the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Authority.
Their final proposals will then be put to a full meeting of the fire and rescue authority in December.
