LAST year’s mayor of Worcester has handed over the money he raised for three different charities during his time in office.
Stephen Inman, who also stood down from his seat on Worcester City Council in May after 13 years at the Guildhall, presented Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Red Cross with cheques for £4,826 each at the Guildhall, High Street, on Friday.
The Rotary Club of Worcester also received £3,062 from the annual charity dinner dance held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, an event they helped to organise.
The money for Macmillan Cancer Support and British Red Cross was raised from events including concerts by the Worcester Male Voice Choir and Worcester Concert Brass, a wine tasting evening at the Commandery with Philippe Boucheron, an antiques valuation day at the Guildhall with Henry Sandon and other experts, a coffee morning, as well as the dinner dance.
