A PARADE of musicians kicked-off the Pershore Jazz Festival on Saturday.
Musicians were accompanied by supporters holding colourful sun parasols all led by conductor George Mason.
The parade, at Pershore College, marked the start of the seventh annual festival organised by the Pershore Jazz Club.
The weekend of music catered for all tastes, including Dixieland, mainstream, jump jive and gipsy swing, as well as New Orleans, thanks to 18 bands.
On Saturday, festival-goers were entertained by Sam Germaine – Scrivens, the Savannah Jazz Band, Reeds United, Jazz Express, the Roger Heeley Trio, Harlem and Ralph Allin.
Yesterday spiritual and gospel music was performed at Pershore Baptist Church by the Antique Six Jazzband who performed with Ruth Frith.
Musicians were dotted around the college campus and grounds, in Avonbank, Pershore.
Also performing yesterday were Richard Leach’s Clubhouse Five, Round the Horn, Simon Banks and Kevin Grenfell and Fret and Fiddle.
Oxford Classic Jazz, the Mike Graver Trio and Len Thwaites’ Abbey Jazz also played before New Orleans Heat and the Antique Six Jazzband closed the show.
