POLICE have named the man whose body was found lying on a bonfire in his garden.
Forty-year-old David Paul Langdon’s body was found in Wormelow, near Hereford, on Thursday, August 14.
Although the body has not been formally identified, police believe naming him now will aid the investigation as they are eager to trace his movements since Monday, August 4.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Dave LLewellin, who is leading the investigation, said: “Mr Langdon has been officially missing since 4th August and we believe that where he has been, what he has been doing and who he has been with are of extreme importance to our enquiries.
“By naming him now we hope that anyone who knew him - or just recognised him - will be able to help us fill in the gaps as to what has happened to him during the 10 days prior to his body being found.”
Anyone who believes they can help the enquiry is urged to call police on 08457 444 888, asking for the Operation 'Define' Incident room.
Information can also be given anonymously – and free of charge to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A post mortem examination into Mr Langdon’s cause of death is being carried out this afternoon by a Home Office pathologist.
Forensic teams have been carrying out an extensive examination of the property while other police teams have made house-to-house enquiries.
Police have also sealed off an address in Much Birch where they have also conducted a forensic search.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the investigation and remain in custody at present.
