AN international business student is planning to use her PhD from the University of Worcester to create links between China and the UK.
Xiao Sun has become the university’s 100th research degree graduate. She obtained a masters in business management at Worcester in 2003 and decided to pursue her doctorate at the university. After five years of research and several hundred interviews and questionnaires with Chinese managers involved in UK and USA-based management training, she now plans to return to China and use her findings to implement international training exchanges and create a national evaluation framework to be used by the Chinese Government.
“In the future I’d really like to develop special workshops and seminars which could be used by the Chinese government as a recognised benchmark for applicable management training,” she said. University of Worcester Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Green, said: “We’re delighted that Xiao Sun has enjoyed her time studying and Worcester.”
