A COUPLE from Worcester are set to present their product to five of the most feared but successful businessmen in Britain on Dragons’ Den tonight.

Neil and Laura Westwood will come face-to-face with Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis, Duncan Bannatyne, and James Caan on the popular BBC2 programme at 9pm.

The couple will showcase their innovative idea, Magic Whiteboard, to the dragons and hope to convince at least one of them to invest in the product, which is a statically-charged, reusable whiteboard that can be stuck up on walls, glass, wood, and wallpaper without the need of any drawing pins, tape or glue.

Mr Westwood, of Warndon Villages, said: “We don’t know what’s going to be shown but based on our experience it should be a very interesting episode with quite a few dramatic twists at times.”

Last week we reported how rookie racing driver Robert Hall, of Bromyard, failed in his attempt to get the dragons to part with £50,000 of their money and invest in his career and ambition to become a top Formula One racing driver.

However, Mr and Mrs Westwood, who have run Magic Whiteboard from their home for about two years, have high hopes for their product.

We previously reported in your Worcester News how Magic Whiteboard consists of 25 perforated sheets on a roll which can be used singularly or together to create a larger board.

The roll itself is lightweight and portable, while the sheets are reusable and recyclable.

Thirty-five-year-old Mr Westwood said Magic Whiteboard is already popular with schools and business who use it for meetings, conferences, training days, presentations, and seminars.

However, he said conveying that and all of the other points he wanted to get across in his pitch to the dragons was not easy.

“We were down at Pinewood Studios for 12 hours and we had to wait around all day not knowing if we were going to be called next,” he said. “It was a very nerve-racking thing to do.”

Mr and Mrs Westwood, who have a two-year-old daughter Ella, said they planned to watch tonight’s episode with friends at their home.
