A FAMILY event will be held in Worcester to celebrate the abolition of slavery.
The day will include entertainment from Drumlove with visiting players from the Gambia, Capoeira dancing, a dance created by slaves, henna and face painting and food from around the world.
There will also be an exhibition and presentation on the history of slavery and the Black Presence in Worcestershire exhibition from the Worcestershire Records Office.
The event at the city centre community centre, Midland Road, Worcester, will be held from 2pm on Saturday, August 23 to celebrate the first national memorial for the abolition of slavery.
The day has been organised by West Mercia Constabulary, in partnership with Worcestershire Active Inclusive Forum (WAIFs), Worcestershire Library Services and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
