POLICE scenes of crime officers have been searching a flat near the city centre.
Up to 10 officers - some dressed in protective white suits, combed a flat above Worcester Reptiles in Lowesmoor, Worcester, on Tuesday, August 12.
The flat is not connected to the shop below.
Police search teams - including a dog handler, arrived at about 7am and set up outside Blunts shoe shop, opposite.
It is not known what they are looking for at this stage.
A shopkeeper in the area said two male tenants living in the flat had been evicted on Sunday, August 3.
He said: “They’d been evicted because everybody had been complaining about them but they came back and smashed the place up.”
An office worker employed nearby said the evicted tenants had broken into the flat to collect belongings, on Saturday, August 9, but had left again on Monday, August 11.
She added: “I feel sorry for the people living in the flat next door.”
