A 64-year-old Worcester woman has won more than £20,000 playing bingo and is sticking to an agreement to share her money with her sister.
The lucky winner, who wants to remain anonymous, won the the national bingo game prize of £16,970, as well as the regional prize of £3,264 and house prize of £75 at the Gala Club in Foregate Street, Worcester, on Sunday, August 3.
The national prize that evening was actually £67,880 but she had to share with three other players in Birkenhead, London, and Scotland who all completed a full house in 45 numbers - the lowest call out of the 470 clubs playing nationwide.
The woman, who plays bingo once a week with her sister, said: “I was a bit numb when I realised how much I’d won. My sister was more excited than I was. When I told my husband he was very pleased.”
The woman, who has two children and four grandchildren, said she has not yet decided what she will do with the money.
