Many years ago, while on a trip to Germany, I caused much consternation among my hosts when I confused the verbs ‘rauchen’ and ‘reichen’. One means ‘to smoke’ the other ‘to smell,’ so you may be able to imagine what I said as the cigarettes were offered. Anyway, this man is making the most of the German authorities’ partial relaxation of their smoking ban in public places. Deutschland uber alles, I say.
