THE site of a former equestrian and country store in Hallow near Worcester can now be developed for housing.

Summerfield Industries has been granted planning permission by Malvern Hills District Council to demolish the existing building and redevelop the plot next to the former Oakleigh Garage on Worcester Road, which has also been used to create new housing.

The company applied to build two semi-detached homes, two apartments and seven parking spaces.

A previous application for the same site was refused in April this year and Hallow Parish Council, together with five neighbours, had objected to the plans.

But planning officer Paul Roberts said the proposals comply with the council’s development plan and recommended planning permission should be granted.
