My Christmas 2006 Poetry offering:
Christmas time is nearly here
With happy times and full of cheer
Kisses under the mistletoe, cuddles in front of the tree
It really is the best time of the year for me
Opening the presents, watching Christmas telly
A bottle of bucks fizz will help make us merry
Slade on the CD player, The Darkness too
Don’t Let The Bells End, sings Justin Hawkins for you
Helping out with Christmas Dinner
Preparing a feast that is a pure winner
Turkey and stuffing, roast potatoes and veg
No we won’t eat till we burst, we always pledge
Settling down to relax in front of the fire
The Queen talks to the nation, which can be quite dire
Eastenders to follow, Wallace and Gromit
But by this time we’re so full, we try not to vomit
Stomach’s settled, Rennies at hand
A walk we decide will be rather grand
The evening air is crisp and cold
Will there be snow, we venture so bold
More food makes an appearance, as if we haven’t eaten enough
To withstand all these goodies we must be very very tough
We reflect for a while on the year that has passed
Another Christmas put to pasture at last
Merry Christmas everyone!!
