So, Christmas is almost upon us. Have you got your shopping yet all wrapped up? To be honest, I have only bought two things, and both of those on-line!
Is it an age thing? I just can’t stand in queues any more.
Talking of queues, in the last week I have made three different visits to the post office, and in each one there was a queue and it was very busy.
So why are we being told they will be closing some of them?
Rant over.
What makes you laugh?
I only ask as this week we had the British Comedy Awards and some of the things that make me laugh may not make you laugh. We had this discussion in our newsroom in that someone could not stand Catherine Tate, who does not make him laugh, yet he was ecstatic about Harry Hill, who I have to say does not make me laugh.
Eric, in our pub the Barmaid’s Bosom, thinks he’s a bit of a comedian and there are times when he make us giggle. There are other times when he is invited top “get his coat” as well.
This week’s effort.
Two nuns are driving down a road late at night when a vampire jumps on to the bonnet.
One nun says to the other: “Quick! Show him your cross.”
So the other nun leans out of the window and shouts: “Get off our ******** car.”
I leave it with you.
We did have a couple of laughs in Pershore last Saturday evening, when, as I mentioned in the Worcester News last Friday, we had the Worcester Male Voice Choir Christmas Concert.
Thanks to everyone who came along. The carols were superb, and the boys sang brilliantly, we had the Holbourne Brass Band and with the organ belting out as well, there was a shiver up the spine a couple of times, and it wasn't because the door was open.
Had a couple of nights in this week, unusual in itself, and decided to have a DVD night.
So we sorted out two films from our vast collection, and realised towards the end of both that we’d seen them both before, but still watched all the way through.
Why do you do that when you know what the end is going to be?
As I write this, it’s just coming to the end of play for the day in the test match in Perth.
I would love to be there.
Perth is probably my favourite city in the world, apart from Worcester and Hereford, of course.
It’s built around the Swan River, and as it’s a newish city compared to some of ours, it seems to have lots of space and green areas, with a massive park right in the city, only problem is it's about 6,000 miles from the next big city.
I would love to go back there some day. Maybe next Christmas, then I won't have to shop at all!
