A BAKER who has only been in the industry for two years has been highly commended at a national award ceremony.

Danielle Lyons, owner of Danielle's Cakes Pershore, was acclaimed for her cakes at the Wedding Industry Awards 2025 after being shortlisted as one of the best bakers in the UK.

The mother started her business just two years ago with the aspiration of making couples wedding cake dreams come true.

"It feels incredible to receive an award for a small business in only its second year," she said.

"It makes me feel so proud and reassures me that I'm doing things right and heading in the right direction," she said.

"The night was amazing.

"It was incredible to be in a room with so many talented wedding suppliers.

"These businesses are the heart and soul of the people who run them, and the wedding industry is such an incredible industry to be a part of. It's truly like a family."

She added that the success she has experienced in just two years excites her for what next year may hold.

"I've become a recommended supplier with several amazing venues, and I've perfected my cakes' designs, finish, and flavours.

"It's been a whirlwind of a second year.

"I am still in shock that I hold two international awards for cake design and now the TWIA  award is the cherry on the top.

"I cannot wait for my third year and what is to come, to make more friends and make more couples cake dreams come true."
