A Christmas tree festival is set to light up a historic village church.

Nearly 20 trees, decorated by schoolchildren, businesses, artists, and residents, will fill St Martin's Church in Holt during the two-day event on the weekend of December 7-8.

The festival, organised by the Friends of the Church of St Martin, will include mulled wine, hot chocolate, and homemade Christmas treats.

Reverend Paul Wilcox, chair of the Friends group, said: "There has been tremendous enthusiasm for the festival and we can't wait to see this very special old church lit up by a beautiful collection of Christmas trees."

Among those decorating trees will be pupils from Holt and Grimley Primary School, Hallow Primary School, Hallow Scouts, and the Wild Goose project.

The event will run from 11am to 4.30pm on both days.

Visitors are advised to bring cash for the festive refreshments.

The money raised will help fund repairs to the church.
