Children from a Worcester primary school helped kick off the Christmas celebrations at a retirement village.
The year four pupils from Whittington Primary School were invited to Mount Battenhall Retirement Village to take part in the Christmas light switch-on.
They were given light-up wands to wave as they joined the residents in a countdown from 10.

The children then performed a selection of Christmas songs in the main lounge, as the audience enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies.
Val Marsh, a homeowner at the development, said: "It was a lovely start to the Christmas festivities and perfect to be able to share it with the children from Whittington Primary School.
"Thank you all so much for entertaining us with your carol singing and poems.
"Happy Christmas to you all."
The event was part of the retirement village's aim to create connections between different generations.
Kelly Leeming, headteacher at the school, said: "As a school, we are always looking for opportunities to reach out to our wider community.
"The year four class loved singing Christmas carols accompanied by their teacher Mr Byrne playing the guitar.
"It was a magical afternoon watching so many people smiling and joining in with the Christmas cheer.
"I felt very proud of our wonderful Year 4 children.
"It was a privilege to be invited."
The performance took place in the development's lounge, which was formerly the music room for the St Mary’s Convent School.
