TWO people had to be extracted from a car and an air ambulance was called after a serious crash with a coach.
Three people were involved in the crash near the B4208 in Wellend, which is expected to remain closed for some time.
It is believed the coach was travelling to Hanley Castle High School, with staff contacting parents to reassure them that students were safe.
Ambulance crews were called to the junction between Blackmore Park Road and the B4208 near Welland, Malvern at 3.21pm, with fire crews called minutes later.
Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were in attendance.
Soon after, a West Mercia Police spokesperson confirmed the B4208 was shut at the junction with the Welland Road while emergency services dealt with a serious crash.
An email from Hanley Castle High School, seen by the Worcester News, said: "Please be advised that the UP10 Astons Bus has not arrived in school due to an accident.
"It was empty and no students were on the bus."
A replacement bus was sent and students arrived home late but safe.
All other school buses picked up the children, however, due to the accident they were stuck in traffic.

As Hanley Road was shut due to flooding, police advised drivers to take time to plan their route before setting off on their journey to avoid being caught in long delays.
At around 7pm Worcester Police confirmed the B4208 between Garrent Bank and Danemoor Cross was expected to be closed for some time.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic collision at the junction of Blackmore Park Road and the B4208 near Welland, Malvern at 3.21pm.
"We currently have three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham in attendance.”
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said they were called to a crash between a coach and a car at 3.28pm.
Three people were involved in the crash, two of which were extracted from the car.
Four appliances were on the scene along with an officer.
