A MAN was cut out of his car by firefighters after a crash in Claines.

Two engines from Worcester Fire Stations were sent out to A449 Claines roundabout at 9.10pm on Saturday (November 23).

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire service personnel extracted a male casualty in his 40s, who was physically trapped, using hydraulic cutting equipment.

"The surrounding trees were cleared using small tools."

The A449 between Claines and Blackpole was closed during the incident.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found one car had been involved in a collision.

"The driver was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."
