DRIVERS are being urged to move their vehicles from car parks close to the River Severn as floodwaters continue to rise.
Earlier this morning (Monday) Worcester City Council announced that Pitchcroft car park would be closed as the racecourse quickly began to flood.
Now, the council is warning motorists to seek higher ground at St Martin's car park as Newport Street and Cattle Market car parks are set to be cut off.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We expect Newport Street car park to be completely underwater later today.
"While Cattle market does not normally flood, the entrances and exits are often submerged and we always advise people not to drive through flood water as it risk damaging their car's engine."
