CITY CENTRE Christmas lights have been turned on.
The lights in Worcester have been turned on this afternoon (November 23).
The lights have brought some festive cheer to the city centre, albeit earlier than expected.
Worcester's Christmas lights switch-on event was cancelled less than 24 hours before it was set to begin and the city council said that the lights would be lit up 'when it was safe to do so'.
Normally thousands of residents come to the streets to view the annual spectacle.
The event was cancelled by Worcester City Council due to safety concerns as heavy rain and strong winds are predicted to hit Worcester tonight as part of Storm Bert.
