Eight schools have taken part in the Worcestershire Schools' Debating Competition, which took place during UK Parliament Week.
The competition was judged by Tom Collins MP, Cllr Mel Allcott, Mayor of Worcester, and Kate Paradine, chief executive of Voice 21 the national oracy charity.
The topics debated ranged from whether people should have to pass a test to own a dog to whether supermarkets should be banned from using plastic.
After four, at times heated, debates Nunnery Wood Primary School was awarded the winning trophy closely followed by St Barnabas CE Primary.
Sarah Hanson, headteacher of St Barnabas CE Primary who organised the event, said: "Worcester's future is in safe hands with these children!
"We are working to develop children's oracy skills and make sure that they go in to the rest of their lives being able to speak with meaning and passion. The competition is a great way for children to engage with how they can make a difference in our world."
St Barnabas CE Primary has been awarded Worcestershire's Primary School of the Year for 2024.
Schools involved in the competition were St Barnabas CE Primary, Nunnery Wood Primary, St Clement Primary, Perry Wood Primary, Northwick Manor Primary, Cranham Primary, Oasis Warndon and Pitmaston Primary.
