WHEN the wedding isn't able to get to the bar, why not bring the bar to the wedding?

Peggy Sue's Mobile Bars won an award for the the best mobile bar service in the West Midlands Region at The Wedding Industry Awards in Wolverhampton on Tuesday (November 19).

Emma Tart, from Rushwick, started the business at the age of 22, when it became clear that it was going to be difficult opening her own pub and she realised she loved working in the wedding industry.

"We started out with a horsebox and we just grew from there," she said.

"We have added more bars and started offering specialised cocktails for each wedding."

Six years after opening, Peggy Sue's has grown extensively and now has a second trailer called Mary Lou, a 360 degree round bar, a rustic indoor bar and a Champagne wall.

Miss Tart also has a dedicated team of 16 part-time staff who help to visit as many weddings as possible.

She said: "My team are amazing and I'm so grateful to have them."

This was not the first time Peggy Sue's has been invited to the The National Wedding Industry Awards.

The business' victory this year was actually them defended the title they won last year.

Miss Tart said: "It means everything to win awards like these.

"It makes all the hard work we do worthwhile."

The business will now go on to compete in the national awards in London on Wednesday, January 22 against the other nine winners in England, Wales and Scotland.

Despite the business' success, Miss Tart isn't looking at slowing down: "I've had to turn people away because we've been so popular so I would love to get more bars so we can do more weddings than ever."

Elsewhere in Worcestershire, Birtsmorton Court, near Malvern, was best venue in the other category and Farm House Cakes, Belbroughton were the victors in the cake designer category.
