AN Evesham town councillor has appeared in court charged with a public order offence.
John Campbell-Muir appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 21.
He is accused of threatening another councillor, Tim Haines, with “unlawful violence” on May 20.
Campbell-Muir, who was dressed in a dark suit, had been expected to plead today but the hearing was adjourned because his defence lawyer wasn’t present.
The councillor spoke to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
He had waited quietly at the back of the court while the defendant in the previous hearing, who was appearing over video link, struggled to overcome technical difficulties.
Campbell-Muir will return to the court on December 5 to enter a plea. He has been released on unconditional bail.
