"The only place in the UK to guarantee real snow this Christmas" has opened in Tamworth.

Santa's Winter Wonderland at the SnowDome opened on Saturday (November 16) and will remain open until Sunday, January 5.

The attraction, now in its 19th year, features more than 1,000 tonnes of real snow, 450 Christmas trees, and a new pantomime.

Visitors can enjoy a snow trail, complete with sledges and snowball games, as well as a Summit Slide and two mini snow slides.

The new 25-minute pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, is described as the "perfect length for young children", and features Santa, Rudolf, and other characters.

The attraction also includes a Christmas village, where visitors can meet and feed animals including alpacas, miniature piglets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and goats.

There is also a letter-writing station where children can create their own letter to Santa and drop it off in Santa's talking post box.

Isabelle Chadbourne, co-director at the SnowDome, said: "We’re thrilled to bring families the ultimate real-snow Christmas experience this year.

"Our Santa’s Winter Wonderland remains an iconic Christmas experience for those in the Midlands and beyond, and I’m really proud about how we’ve levelled it up this year.

"Our team has gone above and beyond to create a festive extravaganza for the whole family.

"From our thrilling Summit Slide to the heartwarming Christmas pantomime, we’re excited to spread even more magic this season."

Tickets for the event start at £18.95, and include access to all three festive experiences.

There are also opportunities for visitors to capture their memories, with a professional family photo shoot station available at the end of the experience.

After the adventure, visitors can unwind at Aspen’s Bar & Kitchen, which offers an Alpine dining experience in a woodland setting.

The menu includes classics such as burgers and bratwurst, as well as festive specials like Festive Loaded Fries and Pigs in Blankets.
