ONE of Worcester’s most iconic companies has been given permission to demolish a warehouse on its land.
Lea & Perrins is to knock down a single-storey detached Severn Trent Water building off Wylds Lane.
The redundant warehouse, which houses a syphon system, is not in a safe condition so will make way for a new pallet storage area at the firm’s Midland Road headquarters.
Worcester City Council’s planning officers said the “proposed method of demolition and proposed restoration of the site” were appropriate.
Demolition of the warehouse is expected to be finished by December 6.
