Christmas events pop up all over the UK at this time of year and planning where you’d like to go can take some thinking.

Whether you like to explore Christmas markets or skate around an ice rink, Worcestershire has plenty on offer this year.

To find out the best events in the county this winter, we asked Worcester News readers to recommend their favourites – this is what they said.

Among the suggestions was Worcester’s Victorian Fayre which is due to take place from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1.

A variety of stalls will be available from crafts and gifts to food and drinks. Visitors can also enjoy the fun fair.

Birmingham’s Christmas market was also mentioned and visitors can enjoy the festivities now.

The markets will continue until Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24) and you can enjoy the stalls on Victoria Square and New Street.

Some locals also mentioned a Christmas lights display at Santa’s Garden which will raise money for The Midlands Air Ambulance, an event at The Holdings Animal Rescue & Rehoming Centre (RSPCA) and more.

RSPCA Worcester in Kempsey (The Holdings Animal Rescue & Rehoming Centre) will be hosting a Christmas Fayre event on Sunday, November 17 from 11am until 3pm.

You can find everything from Christmas trees priced at £3-£5, serving plates, jigsaws, toys and more at the charity’s Christmas event.

Are you a bookworm who loves Christmas tales? Script Haven might just have the ideal Christmas event for you.

If getting cosy is your idea of cosy this winter, Script Haven, an independent bookshop in Worcester, is hosting a reading of ‘A Christmas Carol’ and food to celebrate its link to the author Charles Dickens.

One stave will be read each night over the course of five evenings and Mr D's Olde Sweet Shop will be providing a hot chocolate charcuterie board for guests.

Tickets for the event can be booked online and visitors can get a discount if they book all five nights.

The event will run on Friday, December 6 (stave one), Sunday, December 8 (stave two), Monday, December 9 (stave three), Tuesday, December 10 (stave four) and Wednesday, December 11 (stave five).
