A Worcester entrepreneur has won a global award for his leadership.
David Ogden, the founder of The Key Safe Company, was named the Most Innovative Key Security Solutions CEO (UK) in the Global CEO Excellence Awards 2024.
The awards honour leaders who have shown skill in guiding their organisations towards growth and success in a changing business environment.
Mr Ogden said: "To be nominated for such a prestigious award was an honour.
"So to win it, ahead of incredibly bright and talented peers in the sector, feels like a really big achievement - and one I’m very proud of."
He has also been shortlisted for the Maker & Creator Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, often referred to as 'the Grammys of Entrepreneurship'.
He is one of six inventors competing for the award, with the winner to be announced at a ceremony at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London on Monday (November 18).
The Birmingham-born entrepreneur, who has sold more than two million key safes worldwide since starting the business in 1996, is also hoping for a win at the North Worcestershire Business Awards.
His company has been shortlisted for Business Innovation of the Year.
The company designs, manufactures, and sells police-preferred key safes and other access management products.
The organisers said the company had done 'exceptionally well' to be named a finalist in a category that attracted 86 entries.
Winners in each of the eight NWBA categories will be announced at a dinner at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel, near Kidderminster, on Thursday (November 21).
Mr Ogden said: "These award nominations really are testament to the exceptional team spirit we have built at The Key Safe Company.
"Everyone at the company is invested in what we do and why we do it.
"Many employees have worked here for a long time, including our wonderful Chief of Staff Natalie Ward, who recently celebrated her 26th work anniversary.
"That longevity speaks volumes for the culture we have created and this is paying off all in areas of the business, from product design and quality control to customer service and after-sales care."
