TWO women were hurt following a crash which closed a main road on the outskirts of Worcester.

The women were involved in a two-car crash which closed Droitwich Road yesterday (November 13) evening. 

The two women, who were passengers in the cars, sustained injuries and were checked by paramedics but were not taken to hospital. Instead, they were given self-care advice.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two crews – one each from Worcester and Droitwich Fire Stations – were called at 5.42pm on November 13 to an road traffic collision involving a small vehicle in Droitwich Road, Claines.

"Fire service personnel made safe two vehicles, both on all four wheels, which had been involved in an RTC, with three adult casualties, handed over to the care of the ambulance service.

"Police also attended and Droitwich Road was closed."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 5.24pm on Wednesday to a road traffic collision involving two cars on Droitwich Road, Claines in Worcester.

"One ambulance attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found two women who were passengers.

"Both were assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.

"They received treatment at the scene followed by self care advice before being discharged.

"No further patients required treatment.”

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said the road was closed while the cars were removed.

They said: "We received a report of two-vehicle collision on Droitwich Road, Worcester at around 5.25pm yesterday evening (November 13).

"The road was closed for a short time while recovery was arranged for the involved vehicles.

"No arrests were made."
