THE CITY'S Homebase store is at risk of closing as the company looks set to enter administration.
The DIY retailer has reportedly appointed insolvency experts from the consultancy firm Teneo.
Teneo previously helped Carpetright in April before the company entered administration in July.
Homebase was bought by Hilco Capital for just £1 in 2018 and have tried to salvage the business through a series of cost-cutting measures, but reported a loss of £84.2 million last year.

There are currently two Homebase stores open in Worcestershire - Worcester and Bromsgrove.
Chris Dawson, who owns The Range, is also looking to buy up to 70 of the remaining locations, potentially saving 1,500 jobs.
He said to the Telegraph: "We are delighted to be able to save so many stores and jobs, and looking forward to adding the Homebase brand and subsidiaries to the expanding Range group of companies."
It is unclear whether the Mr Dawson's buyout would include the store in Elgar Retail Park, Worcester.
The Bromsgrove store, in Brooks Retail Park, was bought by supermarket chain Sainsbury's in August and is expected to open in 2025.
