SHOCKING messages shed light on a monkey torture ring as two women from Worcestershire are sentenced for their role in the abuse.

Adriana Orme, 56, and Holly LeGresley, 37, were sentenced at Worcester Crown Court today as  West Mercia Police released material which shed light on the dark, sadistic mindset of the torture ring.

The group rules of the Telegram group read: "To prove you're not a 'Karen', you have to upload a proper rat torture video. Nothing leaves this group. What we see here, stays here. What happens here, stays here."

Calling herself The Immolator, LeGresley writes in one of the messages: "I got us a guy who wants to crowdfund a monkey for videos. The keeper is in Indonesia, basically buys the monkey, which costs us $100, and keeps it for us. He charges between $35 and $75 per vid, and he will do just about anything."

The two women have now been sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday, November 13.

On May 7, LeGresley, of Baldwin Road, Kidderminster, admitted to uploading 22 images and 132 videos of monkey torture.

Orme, of The Beeches, Ryall, near Upton-upon-Severn, admitted on August 19 to publishing 26 videos and an image of monkey torture.

In a previous statement Sarah Kite, co-founder, Action for Primates, who assisted the police with their investigation stated: ''These videos contain the most horrifying content I have encountered in my years of working in animal protection.

"For people such as Orme to think up methods of torturing helpless and vulnerable baby monkeys is beyond comprehension. To then pay for someone to inflict such extreme violence is so disturbing that I believe they must permanently be barred from having contact with children or animals.”

"We are grateful to the UK police for taking action against those individuals involved in monkey torture groups. Anyone involved in this type of behaviour must be held to account, and we hope their prosecution and punishment will act as a deterrent to others.''

Mother-of-three, Orme, was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to publishing an obscene article by uploading one image and 26 videos of monkey torture.

The 55-year-old had also encouraged or assisted the commission of unnecessary suffering by making a £10 payment to a PayPal account.

Her co-defendant LeGresley, aged 37, was jailed for two years after admitting she uploaded 22 images and 132 videos of monkeys being tortured to online chat groups and made a PayPal account to encourage cruelty.
