A HOMEMADE Santa sleigh is returning to spread Christmas joy and cheer to families in Worcester and the surrounding villages.
Whittington's Santa Sleigh is be almost twice as busy as last year with planned visits to 11 locations in and around the city.
The sleigh, a passion project of Whittington Community Event Group, was built last year and along with bringing smiles to both children and adults, raised more than £2,000 for local charities and good causes.
Adam Cooper, Chairman of WCEG, said: "Last year we decided to do something nice and something new so we decided to build a sleigh.
"It's all really about bringing the community together all the while raising money for charities and good local causes.
"We are going to go around Bransford and Rushwick as well as a couple of other little places.
"It's very exciting because we have had a lot of other enquires from other places after last years success and this year we will be out for 11 nights instead of six.
"We are always looking for more elves (volunteers) so if you have some spare time for a rewarding cause then please get in touch."
The Whittington Santa Sleigh's schedule is as follows:
- November 23: Winter Warmer, Whittington Community Hall
- November 27: The Fold, Bransford
- December 6: Littleworth
- December 7: St Peters Garden Centre
- December 7: Wildmore Estate, Whittington
- December 8: Weogoran Park, Worcester
- December 13: Whittington Walk Estate, Whittington
- December 14: St Peters Garden Centre
- December 14: Whittington Village
- December 15: Norton Brockhill
- December 20: Rushwick
Mr Hooper continued: "It's exciting, you can hear the buzz and when you get around the corner the children cant believe it.
"It's really rewarding and raises thousands for good causes.
"I grew up in Worcester and as a child we used to have a Santa Sleigh.
"Now I live just outside Worcester and it doesn't quite reach us so we decided to do it ourselves and it's truly special."
