HUNDREDS gathered outside Worcester Cathedral to remember the city's fallen and bereaved.
Red poppies decorated the war memorial outside the cathedral on College Yard yesterday (Monday) as residents paid their respects on Armistice Day.
Dignitaries, scouts and veterans mustered outside the memorial for a small service and a moment of silence to remember those who had died during conflicts across the world.
The Dean of Worcester, the Very Revd Dr Stephen Edwards, said: “The Royal British Legion led an act of remembrance at the county war memorial at Worcester Cathedral, which was attended by many who wanted to pay respects to those who have served in wars.
"It is always an honour for me as Dean and the Cathedral to play our part in this important national day.”
The Mayor of Worcester, Mel Allcott, was joined by standard bearers at the Cathedral War Memorial at 10.45am to lay a wreath.
Two minutes of silence was then held at 11am.
