HUNDREDS of people attended Droitwich's memorial service to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
A parade, led by reverend Laura Handy, marched along Ombersley Road toward Victoria Square where dozens of wreaths of poppies were laid in front of the war memorial on Sunday (November 10).
Alex Sinton, mayor of Droitwich, said: "I think days like these show the town at its best.
"We had very good attendance today including the likes of the cadets and the scouts."
Among those at the service was Eric Davies, a 99-year-old veteran who served in Burma during the Second World War.
Cllr Sinton added: "It's a really tremendous event and it was great to see so many people taking part."
The last post was played before the crowd observed a two minutes silence at 11am.
