A farm shop near Worcester has been named among the best in Britain, in a list by The Times.
Introducing the list, the newspaper said: “What do you think of when it comes to British farm shops? Besides homemade pies, freshly-picked veg and family-run butcher counters and creameries, many have delis, smokehouses and cosy cafés attached.
“Some fancier farms have their own microbreweries or private swimming lakes to make the journey even more worth it. So, here’s where to head with your basket (or reusable tote bag) — empty stomachs recommended.”
Sunfield Farm Shop in Stourbridge is one of the two farm shops in the West Midlands to be recognised in the list. You can drive to it in around 35 minutes from Worcester.
What The Times said about the farm shop near Worcester
The Times said visitors can look out for the striped awnings on arrival, saying: “You’ll spot the Sunfield farm shop by its striped awnings and handsome brick façade, set on the edge of the walled garden that supplies the shop with seasonal produce and organic flour from the adjacent mill.
“It was initially an honesty box outlet set up in 2020 for homegrown produce from the garden and the nearby Vale Head farm in Kinver. Now it is staffed by pupils from the Ruskin Mill Trust school for young people with learning differences.”
Essington Farm in Wolverhampton also represents the West Midlands in the list.
