A hospital chaplain has donated 45 books about the Holocaust to a school.
Garnett Alderson, who works at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, gave the books, valued at £420, to Christopher Whitehead Language College on Bromwich Road.
He hopes the donation will help students understand the atrocities of the Holocaust and prevent future generations from forgetting its lessons.
Mr Alderson, a Christian Jew, has dedicated his retirement to promoting Holocaust education among young people.
He uses his own money to buy memoirs, survivor accounts, and other historically significant books.
Once he has read each title, he donates them to schools.
Mr Alderson said: "I buy these books with my pension because it’s essential that students learn the reality of what happened.
"Having visited concentration camps and seen Schindler’s memorial garden in Israel, I understand the importance of sharing these truths with the next generation."
He also told students that Holocaust survivor, educator, and Jewish heroine Lily Ebert, who lived to be 100, called him the ‘Jewish book boy’ and asked him to continue to educate young people.
Mrs Stephenson, the learning resource centre manager at the school, expressed gratitude on behalf of the school.
She said: "We are immensely grateful to Mr Alderson for his generous donation.
"These books will become a vital part of our library collection, offering all students the chance to learn from these important, true accounts of the Holocaust."
