A TAKEAWAY pizza shop has applied to extend its opening hours.
Papa Johns in Evesham's town centre has applied to stay open until 4am on two days a week due to increased demand.
The business currently operates between 11am and 11pm seven days a week but is seeking to stay open until 4am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
In planning documents submitted to Wychavon District Council, the applicant Atif Maroof Zar, said: "We are requesting the removal of condition limiting our operating hours on the days Friday and Saturday.
"Our pizza store is quite a busy spot and has gained a loyal customer base as it is recognised as a popular takeaway restaurant in the area.
"The demand for late night takeaway options has significantly increased, and many of our customers have expressed to us to extend our hours at least on the weekend.
"By allowing us to operate beyond 10pm, we can better serve our community and meet customer expectations, all while maintaining our commitment to high quality food and service.
"It is important to note that we intend to operate strictly as a takeaway service during these extended hours with no on site dining or dispatch of food that would disrupt the local area or neighbours.
"The change will help us continue to thrive as a business while providing valuable service to our customers."
