AS WINTER takes hold in Worcester, swans are more likely to be on land and volunteers from a group that helps the birds have released a reminder.
As food supplies dwindle, Worcester's swans will be spending more time on land looking for food.
This makes the birds prime targets for dogs and other animals.
Volunteers from a charity which feeds the swans have reminded the public to keep their dogs on leads when walking through Worcester's Swan Sanctuary.
A spokesperson for The Swan Food Project said: "Watch out, there's a swan about.
"This is a hungry time for swans as natural food supplies dwindle and they come into Worcester for the winter.
"Some take to grazing along Bromwich Parade.
"Please be kind and keep your dog on a lead along here.
"There's no telling what is just around the corner."
