WHEN the nights get colder, there is nothing like the quintessentially British tradition of having a carvery to warm you up.

But what if I told you it could be done while sitting on a sofa dressed in pyjamas from the comfort of your home - and it will only cost you £3.49.

Also, there is no need to spend long hours in your kitchen slaving over the stove.

When things are too good to be true, they are. But what if there is a slight exception to this rule?

Too Good To Go is an app designed to fight food waste, with many businesses across Worcestershire offering bags of unsold products close to its expiry date at a discounted price.

Businesses like SPAR, Greggs, Harvester, Pizza Express, Good Roots, and Yo Sushi have signed up for the scheme to prevent the amount they are throwing away at the end of each day.

Worcester's Toby Carvery is one of these businesses and is serving up a full carvery with all the trimmings for just £3.49.

There is only a limited number of carvery's up for grabs, and fortunately, I managed to bag one for collection between 9pm and 9.20pm that evening.

A slight draw back may be that you have to pick up at a time chosen by the restaurant - but I wasn't bothered about a late carvery.

The app was ridiculously easy to use - maybe too easy if you love purchasing a good deal.

When I arrived at the pub in Bath Road, all I had to do was show my app booking, and I was handed a large box full of brim.

Honestly, my first thought was: Is that all I had to do?

When I got home, I served my carvery and I was extremely impressed with my order.

What is in a Toby Carvery Too Good To Go bag?

My bag included parsnips, carrots, peas, roast potatoes, cauliflower and stuffing.

It also had a cut from each meat, including ham, beef and chicken, all with thick gravy drizzled over the top.

It tasted just as good as when I had eaten in the venue before, and I had a cut from each meat along with a large selection of vegetables.

My verdict?

This deal was not too good to be true and this food was Too Good to Go to waste.
