An orchestra will celebrate midwinter traditions with a special concert.
The Orchestra of the Swan, under the artistic direction of David Le Page, will perform at Number 8 on Tuesday, December 3, at 7.30pm.
The concert will explore the music and words associated with the winter solstice, spanning from the 12th century to the present day.
The winter solstice signifies the transition from old to new, despair to hope, and darkness to light.
Throughout history, the period has been celebrated with rituals, including food, drink, dance, and music.
The concert programme will feature a range of pieces, from ancient to contemporary, religious to secular, and familiar to unknown.
The orchestra is known for its blend of classical and non-classical music and aims to capture audiences with its storytelling.
Tickets are priced at £16 for adults and £10 for children, and are available for purchase now.
