A 'MEAT cleaver' was used during a 'brutal' robbery at a bookmakers in Evesham.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery in Port Street in Evesham during which staff were threatened.
At around 9.15pm yesterday (Thursday, October 30), police received a report that the Ladbrokes betting shop had been broken in, after a panic button was pressed.
Officers responded and were 'on scene promptly', a West Mercia Police spokesperson said.
A weapon, described as a meat clever, was used to threaten those in the shop. Cash was stolen from a safe.
Enquiries are now on-going to identify and locate the suspects.
Detective Inspector Sharon Wallace-Rathmell, of South Worcestershire said: “Brutal force was used by the offenders and a severe threat of violence.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who might have any information which could help us to find those responsible.
