A team of young Worcester swimmers have qualified for the national finals of a championship in both of their events.
The RGS Worcester Swimming Academy team competed in the regional heats of the English Schools’ Swimming Association (ESSA) Secondary School Team Championships.
The girls' intermediate team (year 10) qualified for both the freestyle and medley relay events at the national finals, with the seventh-fastest time across the country in both the freestyle and medley relay events.

The national championship finals will take place at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, which hosted the swimming events at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The team is led by Jon Fletcher and Mark Hill, who train pupils every Tuesday morning at Perdiswell Leisure Centre.
Headmaster John Pitt said: "The dedication of our swimmers and coaches has been nothing short of exceptional, and this qualification in both events is a testament to their hard work.
"We wish them every success at the national finals when they race against the very best swimming schools in the country in a major venue.
"Having qualified so well, they can take these schools on with confidence; it will be a wonderful experience."
