A popular railway is back with festive events this Christmas.

Severn Valley Railway (SVR) is offering a number of festive experiences, including a new pantomime show and the return of Santa Trains.

Starting on Saturday, November 30, families can take a steam train journey from Kidderminster to Arley.

The journey will offer an opportunity to meet Father Christmas and enjoy a live performance of the new 2024 Christmas show.

This year, mischievous elves Jingle and Jangle return along with Monsieur Poirat for 'Jingle, Jangle and the Great Christmas Mystery'.

The experience will last at least two-and-a-half hours and include a present-shaped surprise for every child.

The Enchanted Express will also be operating from Bridgnorth station on the same date.

The journey, inspired by the poem 'Twas The Night Before Christmas', features a host of characters including Pip the Christmas Mouse and Father Christmas himself.

Each child will receive a gift from Father Christmas and have the chance to take a photo with him.

Departures from Bridgnorth Station are at 10am, 12.15pm, 2.30pm and 4.45pm.

Both the Santa Trains and The Enchanted Express require advance booking, and families are encouraged to book soon to avoid disappointment.

In addition to the children's activities, SVR is also catering to adults with a series of festive offerings.

These include an Enchanted Afternoon Tea, a Luxury Evening Yuletide Dining Experience, Evening Santa Pies, Festive Spice Train, and a Festive Gin Train.

The Carol Trains are also back, hosting a Christmas concert amongst the locomotives at the Engine House.

The heritage trains will run from Kidderminster to Highley on December 13, 14, and 20.

Tickets for the Carol Trains are selling quickly.

All events will be taking place at the Severn Valley Railway, which is located at Kidderminster Station.
