A PROMINENT building in the city centre has been sold and its new owners have teased plans for its future.

Marmion House, on the corner of High Street and Copenhagen Street, is home to stores like Joules, Moss Bros and Keystones Cocktail Bar.

The purchase of the building does not affect the businesses.

Its new owner, EDG Property, has revealed it is planning to invest further into upgrading and improving the look of the building.

These will include works to reposition Marmion House by investing in areas like the entrance space, reception area, communal spaces and amenity zones.

The upper three floors of Marmion House are offices, which are let to tenants, including GMP Recruitment, Big Helping, and Boulevard.

Neil Edginton, director of EDG Property, said: “The building is already home to some highly regarded tenants.

"We plan to invest in improving the exterior and upper floor offices of Marmion House and to cement its place in the market as one of the best office buildings in Worcester City Centre.

“There is additional development potential to enhance the property and further diversify the uses, and we have already instructed architects to work on this.”

There are currently three vacant office suites, which EDG aims to refurbish before bringing them to the market to let at the end of this calendar year through appointed letting agents GJS Dillon.

Andrew Lewis of GJS Dillon said the building is in a prime location as he hopes the new look will cause many to want to use the space.

“We are immediately marketing a ground floor retail unit and will be bringing the offices to the market once the refurbishment works are completed in December.”

Marmion House adds to EDG’s growing investment portfolio, which includes recent acquisitions in Coventry, Weymouth and Dorchester.

The property was sold for an undisclosed sum.
