The role of judges during the reigns of James I and Charles I will be explored by a law expert in Worcester.
On Tuesday, October 29, Dr Chris Monaghan, head of law and principal lecturer in law at the University of Worcester, will delve into the judiciary's reputation at The Hive at 7pm.
The talk will cover famous cases, including the Case of Proclamations (1611), the Five Knights’ Case (1627), and Hampden’s Case (1637).
Dr Monaghan will discuss how judges both challenged and supported royal authority during constitutional conflicts.
Tickets are available for £7 each.
