A CITY rock band aiming for a top-30 hit next year will launch their new album at a show close to home.

Worcester's Gypsy Pistoleros are to release Welcome To The Church Of The Pistoleros on Friday, May 2, 2025 at The Marrs Bar, Pierpoint Street.

They describe their sound as a "sacred rebellion melding Latin rock, 50s Spector-esque ballads, glam punk and operatic grandeur into an explosive force".

The album, co-written and produced by Dave Draper, will feature the new single Church of the Pistoleros which is out now as a taste of things to come.

It was recorded at the renowned Old Cider Press Studios in Pershore.

Draper, who has worked with The Wildhearts and Terrorvision among many bands, said: “We are so, so proud of this album.”

He described it as "a total monster" and one of the best projects he has worked on.

The band added: "Prepare yourselves for a sonic experience that transcends mere music — a rallying cry for the outcasts, the misunderstood and the beautifully-strange souls wandering the fringes of society.

"This is no ordinary release. This is a spiritual awakening, a calling for the lost, the silent rebels and the dreamers who dance to the beat of their own drums."

People can order the single now at earache.lnk.to/ChurchofthePistoleros.

Album pre-orders started last week through Earache Records and the single's video is available online at YouTube.

Cargo Records will distribute the album next spring on CD and vinyl via record stores.

Gypsy Pistoleros have shared stages with icons such as The Ramones and Motörhead and are known for their fiery live performances.

With two successful albums under the belt since their comeback in 2020, the band will embark on their Welcome to the Church of the Pistoleros UK Tour next year with more details at gypsypistoleros.com.
