A WOMAN has revealed her "confidence is back" after losing over five stone in under a year.
41-year-old Lynne Palmer, from Warndon Villages in Worcester, joined Lee's Slimming World group in Perdiswell last November after being inspired by her friend's progress.
Miss Palmer said: "It was on the back of seeing my friend, Janie, who's in Lee's group too.
"I saw the results she was getting and how she was feeling, and that gave me a the push I needed."
Miss Palmer weighed 16 stone and 3.5 lbs when she began attending Slimming World sessions - and has since lost five stone and 3.5 lbs.
Miss Palmer, who works nightshifts at the Travelodge hotel in Worcester, said: "My confidence is back now - it's so much higher than it was before.
"I've always been quite an active person, but at that weight I just didn't have any energy.
"I was always tired and was getting out of breath just going up the stairs.
"Work is much easier now."
A mum of five children, the youngest being 6 and the eldest 23, Miss Palmer said changing her diet had the biggest impact.
Miss Palmer added: "The only major thing I changed was my diet really.
"I was having regular takeaways before and a lot of fried food, and just changing what I ate and how I cooked things has helped so much."
Lee's Slimming World is ran by Lee Griffiths, who runs four groups across Worcester and Malvern.
Miss Palmer said: "It was just after Christmas that I began first noticing the difference.
"I was confident that by joining a group, I'd have the support I would need to drop the weight.
"When you're feeling down on motivation, the members help pick you back up.
"Lee has been amazing too, as a slimmer himself. He knows how best to support us and he is so upbeat all the time."
Miss Palmer still aims to lose another 10 pounds, taking her to around six stone of weight loss in total.
In a message to others, she added: "Just go for it. Join the group and don't look back."
