A man from Stourport has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a three-week-old baby died in a serious collision.

Craig Nunn, aged 39, of Sandy Lane, Stourport, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The charges are in relation to a collision on the A451 Stourport Road between Kidderminster and Stourport yesterday (Saturday, October 26).

The collision happened at around 12.09am and involved a black Ford Focus and a black Suzuki Vitara.

Sadly the three-week-old baby, who was in the Suzuki Vitara, died at the scene.

The two other occupants in the Suzuki, a man and a woman in their 20s, required hospital treatment for injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Ford Focus was not injured in the collision.

Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses and urged people with dashcam footage to get in touch.

Inspector Steph Arrowsmith said: "A young baby boy has tragically died and our thoughts are very much with the baby’s parents and wider family at this incredibly distressing time.

"I would ask anyone who was on the A451 between Kidderminster and Stourport around the time of the collision to please get in contact with us."

Craig Nunn will appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Monday, October 28.
