A community group will recruit new volunteers after receiving over £8,000 in funding from Severn Trent.
£8,424 from the Severn Trent Community Fund has gone to Worcester Community Action.
The group, based at The Angel Centre, will use the money to help recruit volunteers and support the voluntary sector.
The funding will also help cover running and staff costs.
The fund awards grant money to maintain three elements of community wellbeing - people, places and environment.
Founded in 2017 by Sally Ellison, WCA is the only central recruitment organisation for volunteers in the city, after the closure of the Worcester Volunteer Centre.
The group, made up of one part-time staff member and volunteers, connects volunteers with various opportunities and organises the annual Volunteer Expo at The Guildhall.
WCA also offers support services, including DBS checks, for the voluntary and community sector in the area.
The new funding will help the organisation run for the next 12 months.
Ms Ellison said: "We’re delighted that the Severn Trent Community Fund Core Funding has recognised our work in this way.
"We’re very thankful for the funding so that we’ll be able to continue promoting and marketing volunteering.
"This is important because so many organisations need more volunteers and volunteering is beneficial to a person’s physical and mental health, no matter what age one is from 16 – 90yrs."
