A MAN was taken to hospital after an incident outside B&M in Worcester city centre.
The man was in a critical condition and receiving basic life support from bystanders when West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived at the scene at around 5.40pm yesterday (Thursday).
It was after reports of a medical emergency on Silver Street in St Martin's Quarter.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance administered advanced life support before taking the man to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Silver Street in Worcester at around 5.40pm.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance, were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition receiving basic life support from bystanders.
"Ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support before he was taken via land ambulance to Worcestershire Royal Hospital."
An air ambulance was snapped at the bus depot near Aldi on Pheasant Street during last night's incident.
An eyewitness said: "A casualty was taken to hospital by road."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added: "This was a medical episode, which occurred outside B&M shortly before 6pm."
