FOODLOVERS from across Worcester have descended into the city centre in their droves for 'the city's biggest vegan event of the year'.
Worcester's Vegan Market, an event that only happens four times a year, took place today (October 19) and residents had nothing but positive things to say.
The market consumed the streets from Cathedral Square to The Guildhall bringing people out on "an unusually sunny day".
Vegans were not the only people enjoying the food, bringing friends and family out to try something different.
Rob Ells from Warndon said: "I've been vegan for five to six years now and I'm very much enjoying it.
"I came down for the market on purpose because as far as I am concerned it is one of the biggest vegan events in Worcester.
"They always do a good job and it showcases businesses that I might not know were around like No Frickin Chicken.
"It's been nice to chat with other vegans and there is a vegan bakery, as far as I am aware there isn't a vegan bakery in the city centre.
"It's about as I had expected, good food, good stalls and not just for vegans."
Worcester's Vegan Market took place on Saturday (October 19) between 11am and 6pm.
Jill Cartwright who had come to the market with husband Neil and daughter Kate, said: "We were brought here because of our daughter because she is vegan.
"It's the first time we have been to this one and we have been pleasantly surprised and the great weather has certainly helped.
"I think they could do with a little more range but having said that, from the stores here the quality has been really good, so I would rather have it this way than adding a few more stalls full of tat."
The next Vegan Food Market in Worcester will take place on February 15 2025.
Katie Shutt from Boozey Bellies said: "It's been very very good.
"It's our first time at the market and everyone is really friendly plus the sun is shining.
"It's gone better than we had expected, although it may not look too busy everyone who has come and had a look has also bought something.
"We have even had a few people buying things as Christmas presents."
